Me and mum have had a quiet day today, which was nice until mum said she was bored (note to self: next time mum says she’s bored, run!). She also said she’d been told off for not doing puppy class socialisation homework, so we’d better do something I’d never done before.
So she popped me in the car, and off we went to something mum called a Metro Station. It was very boring when we got there. There wasn’t much to sniff and nothing much seemed to be happening. But then this huge yellow thing came thundering towards us. Mum said it was nothing to worry about, it was only a train, but I was really really scared.
I didn’t want to go anywhere near it so mum picked me up and carried me inside. There were all sorts of buzzy noises and bangs and clatters, then it started moving too! It went really fast and it wobbled and banged, much more noisy and scary than our car.
I was so scared that mum tried to put me inside her coat to keep me safe, but I didn’t like that so I climbed on her head, but that didn’t help either. Mum held me tight while I shook and shook and shook. She offered me some treats but no-way-Jose, not no way was I going to eat that when I had to be on my guard in case something dreadful happened.
We seemed to be on the train for ages, but mum said it was only ten minutes, then we got off. Phew! Then she took me up a moving staircase (she carried me – she said it was too dangerous for a littl’un like me to go on it on my own), and then down another one, and then we ended up on the other side of the train tracks.
And there it was again – another big yellow train! But this time I went inside mum’s jacket and she was right, it was much nicer there. Mum got her treats out again and this time I decided I’d rather eat than worry about stupid noises. They were really tasty treats and I really enjoyed them. We stayed on the train another ten minutes then we got off properly and mum stopped giving me treats. I’d quite like to go back on if I got more treats. Maybe she’ll be bored tomorrow again…
